I was looking into getting some pacesetter longtube headers and deleting the cats with a custom y pipe from the muffler shop we have here in town. So my question is what would be a good muffler to quiet it down some. I like it being loud but I don't want to be getting pulled over all the time and I drive a lot of highway miles back and forth to work. So something loud enough to get attention and make people look but not loud enough to be obnoxious and get pulled over all the time.

That sounds kind of similar at start up and idle to my Thrush 3" welded series muffler with SpeedEngineering long tubes and ORY. But when you stand on mine, it screams. http://www.speed-engineering.com/shop-b ... -2013.html

OP, here's mine at idle:

You can hear it at cruising speeds on the highway, 60 to 70mph, but the interior drone is not annoyingly loud like a Flowmaster 40 would be. At speed on a flat plain, it's very mellow.
