Well I wasn't expecting to start a build thread again so soon. Especially not one for a 2003 again but here goes.

Here is my current truck (I am trading in soon) 2015 GMC Sierra (build thread) Malaki 2015 Sierra Build

I got a phone call from my father that works at a dealership about this 2003 1500HD with only 135,XXX miles that he could get me for a good deal. So I went in and looked at it and took it home to test drive. It has it's flaws but they all are normal for what it is. It has a manifold leak, Rust on the rockers and a couple dents. Nothing that can't be fixed. Dad called me a couple days later telling me someone else was wanting to buy it so I made the decision to jump on it and take on the new adventure. Here are the pictures of when I first took it home.

The interior looks immaculate. It looks like the back seat has never been sat in.

Future plans.
- Fix manifold
- Tool box
- New taillights
- Towing mirrors
- Exhaust
- Bigger tires

More to come

Aside from driving it to work and back 2 times a week it lives most it's life back in the woods. If these tires start to not to cut it I'll have to look into some swampers.

]The more I drive this truck the more I want to keep it. Makes me wish my GMC was a crew cab.

Keep it then! Makes for a great build. I always have loved these 1500hd trucks.
I would love to keep it as a build truck but Unfortunately I cant justify having two trucks.
Work truck and a Sunday truck...just saying. ;)

You can justify it, just takes some thinking lol

Haha I am sure I can find a way to justify it eventually. But If I sell it I can buy more toys for my GMC and more guns :D

"more guns" truer words have never been spoken.

The weather is getting nicer so I'm getting back to the woods even more now. Now this rain needs to go away. On a side note My wife and I are having our first child and I have been considering keeping the Green turd and selling my GMC for the fact that the 6.0 is a crew cab. My friends with babies all tell me I'd enjoy the extra room. So we will see as the date gets closer.

Wouldn't hurt to have some extra money around when the baby arrives either I'd assume. Plus not many 1500hds on here. Wouldn't hurt to see the nice wheels and tires and what other mods you'd do to it.
Crew cabs are necessary with kiddos...ext cab is nice, but full crew is best.

Oh and congrats on the future new family addition!

CC for the win...congratulations on the good news!
Thats guys! After hauling my two nieces around in my truck the crew cab is looking nicer and nicer each day. I have to move my seat up quite a bit to fit them in. If I would have know about the baby a month earlier I would have just got a crew cab GMC.

Getting some work out of the 6.0. Making it do all the dirty work. Somehow while loading my lawnmower on the trailer it came unhooked and scratched up the tailgate of the truck. Not my happiest moment but no one to blame but myself for not making sure it was hooked up properly.

I guess this is the end to another thread. I had an older couple offer to buy my truck and had cash so it was hard to say no. Sad to see it go. It was nice having such a large truck but the extra money for when Baby Beckham comes will be nice.

Sad, I was getting real attached to this build, helps it was the same body style as my truck.
Like a Rock!
I am sad to see it go as well. Maybe when Beckham is a little older I will get another one. I am going to keep my eyes out for a clean 2006 and I might trade my GMC in for that. I love that body style and I know the engines are solid.
