It took me 8 months to get used to the 6 speed in my 2011, and I can't say I like it, I can say that I have "accepted that I don't have the money to make it run the way I want it to, and that is just how its going to be." It clunks and it bangs, and it jumps, but i've started to accept it for what it is....

I'm still waiting for an answer from range. Autoanything said its not available. Funny thing is it's cheaper to buy from autoanything then from range themselves. How is it possible an outlet can sell cheaper then supplier. Likely because they buy in volume. Soon as i hear back from Range, I'll post what they tell me
Range usually offers a discount of some sort, plus you'll get the most up-to-date version.

Because Autoanything sells outdated units, they buy in bulk to get a deal, never go for the deal when your talking electronics, you always want the latest version, I know this because Autoanything stuck me with a old one even after I asked twice before ordering. Never buy anything from Autoanything.

I.ve seen several comments about autoanything and even though I've never done business with them, I can't help think there's always a few customers that get the s--t end of the stick. No business is perfect or 100% all the time every time. But for me, not being able to judge one way or the other, at the end of the day I prefer to buy updated stuff rather then yesterdays outdated when ever possible. So for this particular item I think its best to go right to the manufacture. It may be a few bucks more but in the long run the best deal. Thanks for sharing the information and comments.

Finally got an answer from Range after asking them if a AFM disabler was available for 2017 5.3 Silverado and if not would a 2016 version work. This is what they had to say......

Thank you for contacting us.

In regards to your question: Range has not been able to officially test on a 2017 vehicle ourselves but we do have modules in the field that are reporting no issues using the current firmware. We have officially tested this firmware on 2016s.

The modules will never cause any harm to vehicles using them and always remember that Range does offer a "no questions asked" 30-day return policy.

Thanks again.

So now I know I can buy last years module and use it without worry. Only thing left to do is go shopping.

I wouldn't think there would be much of a difference between a 16 to 17. Like I stated before I've had no issues with mine in my 16. I do keep a habit of unplugging it once a week.

Sorry don't know what happened there. Lol. Got my range yesterday, bought directly from them. I read reviews online that people are getting outdated software that are throwing codes in newer vehicles, that were bought from another supplier other than Range themselves. Picked up a extension with a on /off switch from a Amozon for a few bucks. That way I don't have to keep unplugging the device to avoid battery drain when the truck isn't being driven for a few days. Haven't had a chance to get outside and install /test drive yet.

Mine was delivered back to Range today per the USPS tracking number for updating, can't wait to get it back and give it another try, tired of the clunking in and out of V4
It's pretty annoying at lower speeds and in traffic. I been using M5 around town. It doesn't seem that bad though at interstate speeds. I'm more worried about any mechanical problems down the road from constantly going in and out of V4 mode as mileage adds up. I just can't see how that can be good for a motor in the long haul. I'm planning on keeping my truck till the wheels fall off, so I'm figuring it's a good investment, and since it's gonna be under warranty for quite awhile yet. This seemed like a good option VS a tune for me.

Ok, I installed my range AFM delete today.
My 2016 is still going into V4 mode quite frequently. Especially when the motor is under no load /or coasting. It's a 8.0 version on the box. . & I bought directly from them. It does seem like it's staying in V8 mode longer, but is not staying locked in. Waiting for a response back from range. Figure I prob won't hear anything with today being Sunday.

Anyone else have any problems with this device on a newer Truck??
Any input is appreciated thanks

Don't be surprised if it takes a couple of business days before getting a reply. I just ordered one myself a couple days ago so hopefully it works without issue when it arrives. I look forward to driving this truck on all 8 all the time. Like esox07 said earlier in this thread, "You bought 8 cylinders for a reason. Use them"

I received my parcel from Range a couple days ago. I can't believe the difference this device has made in driving my truck. The trans now shifts clean and climbing hills smooth.. All the lag and low rev shifts are gone. Worth every penny spent. For a while i had doubts this device could work as guys with one were saying it does, but that's changed. Thanks to everyone for their comments and advise
