I have a 2007 denali and the cruise control has not been working for some time, I decided to go buy a new one and replace it. after the swap the brake lights wont turn off. I can get under the dash and wiggle it and the tail lights will turn off. As soon I hit the peddle again the tail lights came on but wont go off again. I took the new one back off and took it back to the parts store and got a new one, same thing. I can put the old one on and the lights work as they should but no cruise control. Is there some kind of adjustment with these or has any one else had this problem?

There is an adjustment, but, it sounds like a switch problem. I'd get a GM switch. A lot of the aftermarket switches are cheap.

Sounds like the pedal doesn't come back enough to depress the plunger on the switch. Lets see a pic of the old switch not installed.

Id go to the dealer and get the AC Delco brand, just changed mine a few days ago and no problems after installing. It's about 22 dollars.

i just got my AC Delco switch and am installing it this weekend. i havent noticed anything wrong with my lights but my cruise control was out like yours is. ill let ya know if it is reliable.
