I read the FAQ! Well, at least some of it. I have a '90 F250 and my kids kept hitting their heads on the back glass if I was too aggressive with letting out on the clutch. So, I began the search for something newer. I purchased an '03 Silverado 2500 HD with the Duramax about 2 weeks ago. It only has 31,000 on it and was previously owned by Maryland Dept. of Natural Resources. They must have abused it. My mechanic came with me and said all the major components check out. I spent about 4 or 5 hours bonding with the truck while I hosed off loads of mud. Then I pulled it out with my hands. Then hosed it some more. It's much cleaner now. My mechanic is putting on new tires and changing out the brakes. My plans are pretty sedate compared so what some folks are doing.

Plans:
Clean out dirt. I'm removing everything from the interior.
Install new headlamps, tail lamps, 3rd brake light.
Fix up rusty areas on interior. I'll be using Ospho.
Install new seats. Current springs under seat cushion are rusted through.
Bring electric into cab for Ham or CB. ?Make a center console?
New Hands-free stereo and speakers
Probably EFI Live tune and exhaust
And anything else that crops up

This website has provided me lots of valuable information already. I'm thankful for the collective knowledge shared here.
