Can someone tell me the normal oil pressure ranges I should be experiencing. 103k. Valvoline high mileage 5w 30w. Napa gold filter. Little bigger than stock. Thanks.

Mine is running about 30 on hot idle and about 40 cruising. Just seen my truck was about 3/4 qt low when I checked it today. Once I do my own oil change and do the AFM delete I will see if my truck is burning that oil

GM specs the oil pressure as minimums.
1000 rpm is 6 psi min
2000 rpm is 18 psi min
4000 rpm is 24 psi min
I don't have a good mechanical gauge, but set up my ScanGauge to read oil pressure.
35 at idle, 46 at 2000 rpm at normal running temp. Engine has 183K.
Last oil change was out of state and they only had 5-40 in full synthetic.
Changing to 5-30 GM spec.

I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado at 160k miles. My eop psi is running about 60 when hot but when I put some pedal into it it goes up to 70 maybe even higher. What could be going wrong? It just randomly started happening. I just recently bought the truck but it was fine until today

I had issues with oil pressure on my 09 5.3. I couldn't get more than 38 psi cold or under a load and it would drop to 18 at idle. Eventually it would stick open and show no pressure at startup. I ended up replacing it with a Melling high volume stock replacement. After pulling the original one and doing a little research with it, I found that the pressure relief valve was scored on the side and was sticking open. Basically it's a small piston and a spring that controls the pressure. It could be that the relief valve on yours could be sticking closed. That would be the first thing I'd look at for high pressure issues.

You have a variable displacement oil pump, read up on it.

Mine runs at 750rpm 22psi then at 1500rpms 30 to 35 psi, above 2000k rpm 40 psi. You will get valve noise anything below 20 trust me had a oring on my pick up tube go out you thought it was about to throw a rod. Mine truck gauge on the cluster is off so hooked up a wet gauge shows the truth but gauge on the cluster was showing below the 20 mark like 15 psi or damn near zero. So say the stepper motor is bad cause when you unhook oil sending unit the needle is showing on the bottom where it says oil. But short answer is 20psi at idle is good for the 5.3
