I've bought GM Part # 17803282. The kit didn't include an authorization code. I also purchased a remote start OEM kit, and it did include an authorziation code.

For those of you who have installed Part # 17803282, I know it requires a BCM flash - but how is that accomplished without an authorization code?

For remote start, there isn't anything to install (at least on mine) - it's just the new key FOB and an authorization code that the dealership has to provide GM who then tells them what to punch into a tech-2 to tell my truck that it can use the remote start feature.

It's this lack of code that is bothering me for the seat heaters. I heard back from the dealership I bought it (seat heaters) from (on ebay) and they said that there shouldn't be any code necessary. I hope they're correct.

I read on another thread here that the part number of the module for the seat heater is the required code. It was also suggested that you take a picture of the heater module with labels prior to installation.

Do you happen to remember which thread that was? I've read several, and may have overlooked that part.

I had the truck flashed today. I provided them with both the GM kit # 17803282 and the GM part # 25862293 (the module that is mounted under the front driver seat). I'm not sure which one was needed, but they had both.

Also, for what it's worth - step 46 mentioned splicing a ground wire. The dealership and GM tech support both stated that was not needed in my kit (17803282) for my model (2013 silverado LT1).

It wasn't too bad, just time consuming.

I likely have around 6 hours of my time, plus time spent at the dealership.

If you do this, I HIGHLY recommend taking both seats and center console out at the same time. It's easier to route the wires under the seats and under the dash.

I've read where the upholstery work was the most difficult. I found it to be relatively easy. The most difficult to me was finding a place for all of the wiring. It's still a mess under my drivers seat.
