Hi folks,

I am buying a tonneau cover for my '13 tomorrow. I've gotten prices on both the OEM and Extang covers. I can get the OEM for about $10 more then the Extang. Is there a difference between 2? Is one better then the other?

I've had an Extang for my old truck and I really liked the spring loaded/storable clamps on the folding end. Does the OEM have clamps similar?

Can someone who has the OEM snap a pic or two for me of the clamps?

My uncle has the OEM one and it faded really fast. I thought the OEM's were like 800 bucks though?

I have a truxedo truxport and i love it. I know another guy with the Truxedo Deuce and he raves about it. Both of us get hammered with snow and both covers have worn very well.

Edit...just realized you posted this a few days ago. So which one did you purchase?

I have heard the OE tonneaus are decent. I have owned 3 Extangs over the years and was very happy with their quality / durability. Good luck deciding...I think you will like either one.

I ended up getting OE as my buddy who works at the parts counter gave me a crazy discount. $400 out the door.

Nice, sounds like a great score. If I had a buddy who worked the parts counter I'd make sure a few cases of brew or bottles of whiskey find their way to him. That is almost as good as knowing the guard at the bank.
