Any ideas on what could have caused this or how to fix? Doesn't leak even a quart between oil changes but I don't want it to become a bigger problem.

Idk my 03 Silverado has it too and I looked on here and at the pictures of people trucks and they all have it too, and it seems like it hasn't caused any problems so I have just shrugged it off as nothing.

Clean it off and see where its leaking. May be rear seal. You may have more than one leak. Looks like it may need a new plug also. How is the seal on it? Get a new one make sure it isn't tightened down super tight. Don't know the exact spec but prob 10-12 ft.lb. Its hard to tell from the picture or see how far to the front is oily. Check oil cooler lines also if equipped. Does it have the remote oil filter like the blazer? They had problems leaking.
