Is it possible to flash it myself with some series of brake pedal and key on/off pattern?

2012 gmc sierra 1500 with 6l80e and 6.2 engine.

How to flash with key and brake pedal:

Get in, close door, put on seatbelt.
Press the brake, start the truck.
Put in drive and accelerate.
Multiple accelerations, brake pedal application, turns.
Arrive at dealer.
Pay them to reflash.

Seriously, there is no way for a DIY to accomplish this without a J2534 pass through and a ACDelco TDS subscription. If you don't have the equipment, it will cost over 10X what the dealer would charge. And if you screw it up the cost could skyrocket.

I just replaced mine a month or two ago. I tried every method available to me, even the mobile guys couldn’t do it, they said it needed dealer level programming. Mine was a GM reman. I paid $180 for reflashing both the TCM and the ECM. The tow there cost slightly more.

Ended up being 165 at local stealership. They also fixed my airbag recall and gave the truck a full once over checking all the fluids, belts etc. So not to bad a price to pay.

Pretty sure HP tuners will let you flash over another TCU if you already have your original TCU saved. I'm going to try this with my EFIlive V3 after the rebuild. I'm also pretty sure I read that as long as your TCU is from the same OS as your original you don't even need to reprogram it. Of course you would need to have or know someone to read the OS info off with HP tuners / EFI live.
