Had the entire steering system pulled cleaned checked and reinstalled on my 07 SLT. Anyone know what the fluid capacity of the steering system is? Apparently GM wants to keep this a difficult mystery rather than just post a number like they do other fluids in the owners manual. Thanks

They don't hold much on the 1500s. Get a quart and that will fill it. If the system is completely empty, which it sounds like it is, then 2 quarts to be safe.
When I flush them I get 4 quarts and that is more than enough to empty and fill the reservoir 3-4 times.

I've grown to like the amsoil fluid. One of the only true synthetic fluids. The difference on the non hydroboost systems isn't super noticeable.
But on the hydroboost system, I notice an improvement in steering and brake feel. Nothing huge, but noticeable none the less.
