Looking into making my truck sound better/louder, wondering what the best cheap way to make this happen would be. Muffler Delete? Resonator Delete? Straight Pipe? Budget is tight, and getting a full exhaust setup is not an option at the moment. What is the best combination of tone and loudness?

Leave it alone trust me bought a v6 truck once and it had true duals and turbo mufflers and it was horrible. Went back to a factory muffler and tailpipe

Unbolt the exhaust and move it out of the way to see how it sounds wide open...that will give you a baseline of how the V6 sounds raw vs. the v8. Use a bit of wire to support the loose exhaust if you want to go for a drive. If that hasn't turned you off, perhaps use a sawzall to cut the pipe just behind the muffler and add a dump tip. if you don't like it, you can use a band clamp to piece it back together or have someone weld it up.
