So I was looking into trading my car in for a 2014 Sierra until I saw the reviews online and the issues the first 2 years of that generation seem to have from lights to AC to transmission issues. What has me confused is why I'm not finding the same thing for the Silverado's of the same years. Can anybody fill me in as to why the Sierra seems to be riddled with issues? I'm drooling over the Sierra All Terrain of this generation. Also, sorry if this has been asked a dozen times.

Regardless of what some grumpy GMC owners might try to tell you to make themselves feel better for spending more money on a Sierra 😆, aside from cosmetics, they are still the same and come from the same production lines.

Both have issues, it comes down to taste.
If you are the type that settles for mediocrity and your taste has you wearing socks with sandals then you are more than likely a candidate for the Silverado.
On the other hand if you like quality and have better taste then the pro grade GMC is probably more your style.

Good luck on making your choice and if you find yourself leaning towards the GMC side, congrats on making a wise decision.
If you find yourself leaning more towards the Silverado however, just don't be surprised you find yourself trying to justify why you went with the less pro grade truck, Lord knows there are many on here like that. Some have even gone so far as to destroy their Silverados by crashing, burning etc. when they finally realized their mistake.

I haven't had any issues with my pro grade 2015 Sierra and love it.

I have been a GM truck owner since 1988. It was my first ever 'new' vehicle purchase also. Had always bought used before that. When I am ready to buy, I first narrow down the year range I can afford and look how each Chevy/GMC models look. It makes me no difference, GMC or Chevy, whichever one appeals to me at the time.

I've been a GM truck owner since 1986. I bought a new S15 with a V6 and a few amenities. It was my first new vehicle because I could afford only beaters up until then.
