Rockauto has saved me literally thousands of dollars on parts over the last 8 years that I've been buying from them. Even with shipping to Canada the price is very often far lower than local.

And I have returned 1 or 2 parts, and it is a bit more of a hassle than taking parts back to Napa, but hey, I don't mind the slight inconvenience in 1 or 2 of 50+ orders.

But generally, don't buy the cheapest parts anywhere. I just buy the better quality parts from rockauto, usually costs similar to the economy level parts locally.

Hope someone has a answer for you, I use Wix filters.
The packaging I got yesterday, there is no foreign writing on the boxes .... looks like a different shade of blue to me ... the lower right hand corner of your box has 3 white dots, I do not see that on mine .... The packaging just looks different.

On the other hand, my spark plugs are different packaging, has foreign language on them and has 2 out of 3 dots .... suggesting possibly that is quality level? I have 2 where 3 are better ... I really do not know .... now wondering if my plugs are counterfeit.

Wonder what the dots mean ?
I bought my filter on amazon but all the different writings and those "dots"?
I think i'll just go and pick up another one just to ease my mind o_O , hurts if i don't do that sometimeso_O:p
Have a good day.

There was a thread on this site not too long ago about counterfeit WIX oil filters and the poster bought his from Amazon.
He posted photos and information of differences from what he expected to receive .... It literally was junk and non working out of the box.
No oil flow on startup. They cut it open and pointed out several issues including surface rust inside the cheap filter.

Same time I took photos of the new wix filters I bought locally a few weeks ago and could point out all the differences between his and mine.

I'm just convinced there is someone in China counterfeiting name brand oil filters. I sent out a warning in a different forum weeks ago when another person complained about a Fram filter ..... If they would do it for wix .... why not do the same with all the big names and sell them cheaper? ....

Thats why I said earlier I simply do not have a ACDELCO oil filter around to compare with yours .... hoping someone has a filter on the shelf and can compare. ..... Never hurts to have a spare, you know you will need it, thats also when I pick up consumables like carb cleaner, penetrating oil ... things I use around the shop ..... pickup the acdelco oil filter locally and compare to yours ..... that should tell you.

Ordered plenty from them. Damaged radiator replaced free, wrongs parts sent and told to keep and correct ones sent. Returned parts I didn’t need. Zero issues. Also have my parts delivered to a business and shipping is always cheaper.

I'm going to do just that, thank you.
Compare with one from the Stealership maybe ?
You know what, just for shits and giggles i just might do that on monday and report my findings afterwords.
I'm due in few hundred more miles for my 2nd oil change after (2500mi) break in w/ conventional oil on the new/reman.
It would be a shame to start my new regimen of synthetic oil with a "Bum" oil filter from amazon.

I imagine they would have a legit source and sell you correct filter at a inflated price.
Here locally I'm not even sure I could order acdelco .... I have a Napa & a parts plus .... WIX is all they sell, even though napa filters are made by wix.
Either they stock a acdelco in their warehouse or not. .... No idea where you get one locally. ....
Thats exactly what I'm suggesting .... buy one from a reliable source and compare it.

I can not claim yours is a counterfeit ..... certainly looks like a good candidate and I would want to investigate further.

Does this look right ?
That's legit.

With large orders RA usually forgets something or sends a wrong part. That has been my experience for the last 4 years. Prior to that I never had a large order and never had an issue.

I don't like their 50 questions system but it works and I get my parts.

Yeah, i'm so curious now.
I Have a Stealership nearby and on monday i'll run over and pick one up and bring the one i have to " show n Tell" with the parts guy and see what he has to say, if anything.
It'll give me something to do and i'll harass the sales guys with some test drives;)for an hour or so and then go home with my overinflated PF63 Professional for Chevrolet, Hand Picket :p (y)o_O

It doesn't say PF63" Professional"as my receipt states. .
It's Just old maybe ?
I'll compare with one from the stealership on monday, just to cure my curiosity.

It's a genuine original equipment item. They didn't write it up correctly in their computer system.

Seriously glad to see the Rock Auto lovefest here, hope it continues for your sake. But when I get screwed on returns that's it for me and I'm not alone just do a quick Google search, not by a long shot. To the guy who said I'm reacting from one bad experience well that "experience" was finding out they have NO actual human customer service no matter what happens to your order, that's it for me. On top of it, I price comp'ed that last order and after RA's shipping I didn't save much over buying the same brand parts w the free shippers. But the guarantee of having no-hassle returns elsewhere is worth a hell of a lot more IMO.

Just an FYI for anyone looking to buy parts. It's been a couple years since I used Rock Auto, usually buy local or else eBay/Amazon because of free returns and boy is that true now.

Rock Auto is in an apparent customer service death spiral if you read current reviews all over. I ordered about $200 in parts including four new LCA bushings (2 forward, 2 rear) for my 07 NNBS Sierra. Most of the stuff is fine but the LCA bushings are the wrong length and the two rears are completely different bushings put in the same part numbered boxes.

Then the fun starts - now try to return those. Good luck. Rock Auto has switched to ZERO human contact for any returns. No phone number and no email contact. They say to use Email but it's been a week and I've received no reply. When you start a return, they put you thru a long series of questions for each part and you click yes, no, or not sure and no matter how you respond they tell you you're responsible for return shipping costs, even when you get the wrong parts delivered to you at no fault of your own.

All over the internet reviews it's the same thing. People getting screwed on purchases thru them. Stay away from Rock Auto.
You're not going to convince us who use Rock Auto to stop.

NO actual human customer service
Ok. Actually not true, I've emailed back amd forth with a couple actual people there, but whatever, suite yourself.

Although I am sorry you've had a bad experience. That does suck.

Did you create an account just to B****? Funny.. mad about service or a company and thinks they need to make a post about it.... Than after doing all of that gets mad when there is a majority who dosen't agree. I should post about how bad autozone is or something getting the wrong part and can't return or something like that. It happens dude thats life. They may not be your cup of tea but when you get mad about a majority on your post who don't agree thats just dumb... What did you expect to gain from this post? Lol
