Can't help with your situation but would say I don't think a remote start is ever a good idea. Engine lubrication is based on a good oil flow. Starting a cold engine and just letting it idle under no load exposes the engine to the very lowest oil flow it will ever experience. The engine will warm up the fastest while under some load driving. Other than startling bystanders, I don't see the point of it. If you live in a cold area as I do, a block heater is a much better option. Good luck.
