2008 Silverado LTZ Z71 Extended Cab w/ Sunroof
Driving to work this morning in a pretty heavy rain, I noticed a drop of water hit the center console. I looked up around the sunroof and didn't notice anything odd. At the next stoplight, I felt around the sunroof and nothing was wet. As I drove on, I saw another drop of water out of the corner of my eye. At the next light, I looked around a bit more and notice the water was dripping from the passenger side of the overhead console (near the map lights). I reach up and felt around the console and the headliner on the passenger side of the console only had about a 1.5" spot that was sopping wet. The water was dripping from there.
I assumed the water came in through the sunroof somehow. I looked at the seals on the outside when I got to work (in a covered area) and didn't see anything that looked bad. As I hadn't had this problem before, I chalked it up to a fluke and proceeded about my workday. When I was ready to leave to go home, I reached up and felt the same spot and it had dried out. On the way home (still raining), no more water dropped, but when I got home and felt around again, that same spot was getting wet again.
I've had this truck since early last November and have driven it in a number of rains and it's been piled high with snow (and associated melt) and this hasn't happened before. Anyone have any thoughts of where to look for the source of this? Maybe, if this truck has them (I'm assuming it does), a drain hole in the sunroof has become clogged?
I've had numerous (GM) cars with a sunroof and this is first leak I've ever seen.
I'd appreciate any advice.
Thank you!
Scott
