I was told i could level my 2007 Z71 4x4 by tightning the torsion key bolts. Was wondering what the pros and cons are and if it can even be done. Yall Rock thanks for the help.

I know this is an old post but since this was done a while ago, any ill effects of just "cranking up the bars" and is it just a matter of tightening the bolts on the torsion bar keys? Any pictures of this procedure? Does this change the alignment at all?

Will is right. It's a very simple procedure. Jack up a corner and tighten the bolt. Do the same number of turns on the other side. Then definitely get it aligned.
I ran my last truck that way for 6 years, with no issues, other than the firmer ride.

What are the primary benefits to leveling? Is it just for looks, or does it serve a greater purpose?

Thanks,
Brad
It is most definitely for looks. Some people stuff bigger tires under there after leveling also but most still experience a little rub.

Like Ekin said, turnin up your torsion bars gives you a much stiffer ride and it can wear on front end components. In most cases I think it'll take a long time for anything to wear out depending on what kind of use the truck gets. I'd just do the leveling kit and maintain your factory ride if at all possible.
