I'm not exactly sure how the GM internal warranty system works, but I work for International and our warranty system requires we go through their testing via the computer software and have it issue a WAC (warranty authorization code) before we can replace anything tha that under warranty on the motor.

If for whatever reason we cant run the tests they want, we need to contact their techs at home base and get approval that way.

Its incredibly stupid and takes longer. Especially when you know the issue and know how to fix it, but need to go through all their tests just to come to the same conclusion.

If you have a 2500 gas truck, you can only have the 6l90e. If you have a diesel truck you will have the allison 1000.

That I do not know. I haven't really looked into it much. I haven't read about anyone deleting it on the 2500 trucks so if I had to guess I'd say they don't. But without looking into it more it's only a guess.

I will look around real quick and see what i can find.

Edit: I looked at a GM parts diagram for the trans cooler lines on the 2500 gas truck with the 6l90e trans and did not see any indication, or listing for a thermostat. It just showed the lines and the adapter plate to connect them to the trans.

I tried to confirm by looking at the break down for the 1500 trucks, but they didn't list any trans cooler lines on there. At least not that I can find. They are obviously there, but they don't list them under any of the options.
