2001 chevy z71 4x4.transmission just started slipping and as soon as the fluids get up to temp it want even shift.could this be trans fluid pump or sensor or something.it shifts fine when you first crank it up and take off.then starts slipping and then acts like its in neutral.

It sounds like it has worn clutch packs and seals. I'd say it's time for a rebuild. Does the fluid look brown and smell burned?

yes.it sure does.what does a rebuild run for that tranny

It kind of depends. From what I've seen $1,800 on up to like $2,300ish and maybe even a little bit more depending on where you go.
