I searched and really couldn't find the answers I was looking for. I am the new owner of a 2008 GMC 5.3 Flex Fuel. I want to add some mods and I know that breathing is good! So I am figuring the cold air intake AND long tube headers. So for the questions...
- on the cold air intake, what about the MAF sensor? Texas does emissions testing...
- If I put on headers, what happens to the cat converter? I have heard many say that they do away with the cat... How is that? again, I live in Texas and we have emissions testing???
- If I do long tubes, I have to change the whole system, is there a kit that includes headers all the way back through the muffler?
- I understand once I install the headers, I will need to have a tune, can I get a tune to work (for a while) until I can get a Diablo?
- What about the "Flex Fuel", is there a problem with the flex fuel not feeding enough to make a difference?
- I have heard said that when you go with headers, and then get a "CHIP" like a Diablo, people do away with the AFM; I like the fact that I can get the mileage while traveling on the road.
Enough for one posting, any help is appreciated in advance.
