Hey all, I have a 2006 sierra SLT with the stock Bose head unit and stock Bose speakers. I was wanting to install a touchscreen double DIN deck but want to find out a few things first. First I am wondering how it will sound, i want to keep the stock speakers but just add the touchscreen deck. Am i going to lose any sound quality switching to a aftermarket deck?

Secondly, I don't want to lose the steering wheel controls, I looked online and found some control interfaces but I'm not sure which one would work the best for our pickups?

And lastly I guess i just wanted some reviews on which deck to buy. I found a Pioneer deck that i like the look of but thats all I know.

Here is the deck i have been looking at so far: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio ... 400BH.aspx

I like how it has very few buttons on the front of it. I am completely open to suggestions at this point, I am still in the planning stage. Let me know what you guys think.

Also if you guys have some pictures of your decks similiar to what I am looking for feel free to post some pictures, I would love to see them.

Hi,

Changing out the head unit is relatively easy... Picking the right head unit for your personal tastes, that's a different story.

As for the steering wheel controls. When you install the head unit, you'll need a a couple of "extra" sending/receiving units to have steering wheel control and chimes for the multiple alarms (door open, keys in ignition, lights on, etc.)

Check out crutchfield for more specifics. You don't have to buy from them, but they do offer great customer support:

For the steering wheel: Installation Kits

As for the kind of head unit. I can offer no advice. But enjoy your search...

I hope this helped, :D
