Well Dadgum it !!! I got the door kit and everything to fix my latch release for the driver's door ahead of time only to find today that broken plastic is NOT my problem. The damn cable snapped!! Fortunately we are headed to a Rodeo up near Chehalis WA and the O'Reilly's up there has the cable I need!! They close at ten so all should work out for a finished fix tomorrow.

I always followed the owner's manual instructions of taking it off (2001 was removable) when I went off-road (hunting). About 5 years ago I got tired of the routine so I just left it off year-round. I don't mind the look.

98 degrees today with a heat index of 105.
Gave the truck a bath, then a little tire shine and plastic restorer. Also emptied the catch can. Been about 10K miles. About 3 Oz. No condensate, just oil.

Then I hit the lake!!!

Explain what exactly this new pedal does and will it make a difference on my 2011 1500 5.3?

GM 23362231 Accelerator Pedal - you can pick one up (Brand new) for around $80

The gas pedals are all the same from 2007.5-2019 but in 2016 or 2017 GM updated the pedal and changed the part number so the discontinued the older ones that came in the 2007.5-2016 trucks. The older pedals were a bit laggy and you would have to press down about 1/4 of the way before the truck would move. This updated pedal will not help with performance or anything, but it will help with throttle response.

Thanks for the reply. I think I’ll give it a shot then. Did it make a noticeable difference on your truck?

Replaced my stock shocks with Bilstein 4600 and replaced the level blocks with top mount strut spacer.
those damn spring compressors are scared as hell.
ended up taking them to a shop and for $80 they changed them out. Money well spent

This here driveway wrenching is hard on a fat boy...
Now to install some new headlights...thank goodness I won't be wallowing on the gravel like a turtle on its backside for this install...

Oops, wrong forum...oh well...at least y'all know I was wrenching on something...fixing up my dad's XJ for my 16yr old daughter...
