Was looking for some epoxy paint to refresh my little 500 gallon pond and waterfall.. I'm comparing paints and I see these directions...

Why the hell would I waste my good vodka or everclear?

That is a nice garden. Not dumb at all. Maybe mis-red the thread title?

That's nice man! Did you build it all yourself?
Originally my parents house, they had hired an old guy to build it a long time ago. He was pretty old, so I did help him place the rocks, etc. I've had to repair it several times, replace the pump and redo the plumbing. I built the fence section..there was a cherry tree there, that's the reason it's a short section. The house you see in the background that looks close to my property line is my sister's house. I took down the tree last summer.

So as for dumb things..mom planted that tree over the upper septic tank! Luckily it only services the washer & a small bathroom that no one uses. I got some chemical to rot the stump. Eventually I'll have to open it up.

I just moved into a new place 2 years ago and it has a septic tank. When I bought the place the owner had no idea when it was pumped out last so I had it done before I moved in. They had landscaping and a bunch of stuff planted on top of the clean out and the pumper guy said that's a real bad idea. Plants like the water and fertilizer so they do good but the root system get's into the tank and clogs stuff up.

Think around here if you sell your house it's required to pump the septic. It's never good to have all that stuff above your septic opening. Luckily I have two 500 gallon tanks and that one only runs laundry basically.
