Like all have said make sure it is a air tight seal if not I can see a light with rich fuel codes. If it sees to much air it will add fuel I think fuel trims always muck me up
I don't know much about that particular hose, but if others are right and he just needs to reattach it with some electricians tape, I would say getting an "airtight" connection is just about impossible.
There is an oring that keeps it air tight. You just wrap tape around the end to wedge it in there until you can find a replacement so your truck isn't just sitting there.
