2008 5.3 120,000 miles. AFM turned off at 110,000. Owned truck since 109,000 miles. Look I know it's s bad idea but I want to turn my AFM back on just for a experiment. My truck is already tuned and I understand that if I plug a tuner in it will reset everything to the tuner. i found this company that talks very highly of this "QuantomBlue oil" made by BND preformance saying it can solve the AFM oil consumption issue. So I'd like to put it to the test. I want to turn AFM back on the see if (during my 1,000 mile road trip ) any oil is consumed. Also I want to compare mpg to AFM on/off the see if it's even worth it. I know everybody says don't do it but I want to see for myself. So what is the best tuner out there. And what about the tuner that comes with a monitor to monitor as you drive.

I don't know that much about tuners, but as long as the tuner has the function to disable/enable AFM, I don't think one will do it any better than another. It is either disabled or it isn't. Of course, one tuner might have more bells and whistles than another, but I don't think turning off AFM with a $700 tuner will turn it off any more or better than if you used a $200 tuner.
