My 2018 1500 LT Z71 was stolen recently. I really hate being in the new truck market right now for quite a few reasons. I'm leaning toward making the jump to a 2500 gasser, LT, 4x4, Crew Cab, 6.5 bed. Last time I was in the truck market, it was fairly standard to get a 1500 LT at around $10k off MSRP. Any tips on what negotiations for 2500 gassers look like in today's market?

Just like used trucks being expensive and hard to find, they can't build new trucks fast enough.

I'm drive by (sort of regularly) a bunch of different GM dealers than normally carry lots and lots of pickups in inventory.
I'm still not seeing inventory climb very much,

Dealers have a very small percentage of their typical pre-covid inventory.

If you forced to buy you're between a rock and a hard place.

Wow, this is a REALLY bad time to buy a truck, new or used. My 2015 increased in value from 19k to 25k+ since early 2020. New vehicles have increased even more. Looking at a local dealership, a 2021 2500HD has a MSRP of 48k, but are selling for 65k. Kind of funny to see the MSRP crossed out and the sale price WAY higher.

Our local Chev dealer (large dealership) has 3 1500's and 0 2500's on the lot. They would normally have 20-25 of each on the lot. The local GMC dealer has 5 1500's and 0 2500's. Their lots looks like ghost towns. Sticker price + is the norm right now.

Just bought a 2021 RST Z71 for about 4500 under sticker price. There were used trucks on the lot with higher prices…very strange situation.

I love my 2020 2500 6.6! It is a beast! If MPG is not a concern, you will not regret the 6.6.

That being said, I just looked on KBB, and it is currently worth more than what I payed for it a year ago.

...bad time to buy.

Sorry dude.
