I am looking to keep my factory radio, so I need to signal my amp to turn on from somewhere other than the head unit. I would like for it to remain on after I turn the truck off until I open the driver's door like it is now. Can I achieve this by doing a fuse tap off of the SEO retained accessory power fuse for the signal wire?

turn key to on but don't start and test your fuse panel to see what fuses are active. pull the active fuse out, put the wire in and replace the fuse

only use SEO power with a relay. It's a very very small current supply. Like .3 amps or so. Works well with a relay but I believe you need one with a flyback diode installed to protect the circuit from relay coil spikes.
