Newbie here, but here is the setup. I have an 1982 Chevy C10. I have access to an 1988 GMC Sierra that has a Fuel Injected 350 in it. I want to take the GMC motor and modify it to a carbureted motor, then install it into my 1982 Chevy.

What I need from the group is information about the feasibility. The only thing thatI need to do is buy a intake manifold for the 1988 350, so that it could be carbureted? What else do I need to look out for? Is it even probable?

Fuel pump? I don't know if your 82 is mechanical or electric. I don't see any other reasons it wont work.

It doesn't hum when the key is turned, so i will guess mechanical. Would it be best to take Motor and Tranny? Or does that not really matter?

I guess that really depends on the condition of either one. Go with the one you think is best. While your doing this it might make sense to look at a new torque converter while it's apart if you can afford to. Also look at the flex plate starter teeth and pick the best one.

the 88s have electric fuel pumps but some of the engines have a plate over the mechanical pump hole. I dont know if the cam has the pump lobe tho....a n electric fuel pump is no big deal ....

Looking at Auteria, it looks like it has an electric pump.
