XM radio questions

I've tried searching the manual, here, and other sites and cannot find a definitive answer.
Just purchased a 2018 LT.
Question: Does the XM radio have the capability to pause, rewind, ff?
I've read where earlier models could do this, and maybe this feature has been discontinued? (Why they would take that away is beyond me)
In my wife's 2023 Santa Fe, XM can be paused, and you can actually change stations and go back about 5 songs for every station you go to. I know I'm talking about a 4 year older vehicle, but I've been reading where '12-'16 models have this feature. Do I need some sort of update maybe, or is it just a deleted feature?
Thanks

Thanks. That's what I was afraid of. So, I do have the SXM app since I used it a lot in Afghanistan, but I've never used it in a vehicle. How does it work in the truck? Bluetooth, android auto? Does it show up on the screen and I can control it with steering wheel controls?

On a vehicle's stereo, when using a built-in tuner, SiriusXM is streamed live. On the app, it's basically them playing a recorded program from a few minutes to a few hours earlier. That's why you can pause, forward and rewind on the app and can't in the vehicle. Note that the app may have a "listen live" button on the play screen so you can listen to the current stream.

You can listen to the app version of SiriusXM via Bluetooth, Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. What shows on the screen depends on the vehicle but it should show standard play and pause buttons at a minimum.

I can't speak to the steering wheel controls.

It's weird.....
If I use the SXM App from my phone in the truck, (or a podcast, or just listen to the audio from a YT video,) I can vary the volume either from the phone or the radio volume knob. The "paddle" switches behind the right side of the steering wheel will only work to control that volume if I hit the steering wheel "mute" button on and off quickly, then immediately adjust the volume paddles.
I discovered that quite by accident, and could never find anything written about it. Even asked on this forum.

I use AA, BTW..

I had been avoiding using music apps through Bluetooth because I tried Amazon music and the volume was very low. It helped a little by making sure the volume was all the way up on the phone, but it still wasn't anywhere near the volume of straight XM from the truck. I'm still new to android auto, so maybe I'll try it with the SXM app.
I like being able to pause and rewind, but not at the expense of losing steering wheel controls or having to fiddle with the phone while driving.

I can rewind on my rig but I believe it's because mine is an early build 2015 (RPO Code "AVF"). I believe the 2015.5 mid year models no longer had this feature.

I have a 2015 Sierra as well and I can pause, rewind and fast forward XM radio and regular radio. What happens is it records what is playing on a factory hard drive in the truck, sort of like a DVR.
If you tune into a station you can immediately pause within a few seconds but you cannot fast forward to a song you haven't heard yet, or rewind to a song that hasn't played yet while tuned in.
You can only rewind to something you just heard on the same station or fast forward to something that was played previously on that same station. If you switch to another station you start all over.

Our 15 Impala does this as well. I believe the feature was removed in 2016 when Car Play/Android Auto was released.
