4.88s & Still a Turd!

Ditch the cats and run long tubes lol

Okay the first thing I would do is try and get someone that did your tuning to take a look at your truck, drive around with them looking at how it is running.

Or get HPTuners and take a log of it yourself and post it online for some people to take a peek at

I would ask Black Bear to check some logs. They should be able to tell if it is knocking/pinging which weak or bad fuel pump will probably cause. Because you are running the huge tires they may have tuned it conservatively and left in all or most of the torque management for the transmission so it would stay happy. The TM really makes a difference in how much power you are "allowed" to put through the transmission to the ground, and compound that with huge heavy tires and possibly weak/bad fuel pump and it could be pretty sad.

Realistically these engines don't even hardly start making power til the upper 2k-3k RPM range anyway so that sounds about right.

Spinning 35" tires with a 5.3L even with decent mods is asking quite a bit as well.

At the time they tuned the truck the only thing he wanted changed was the drivers side 02 sensor as it was faulty. The truck was noticeably different after the tune and maybe the pump & filter slowly started to fail because this thing feels like it weighs 5ton pulling from stop.
I've been in these trucks lifted with 37s with the 5.3s and they roast the tires and you get put back in your seat.
Even with my 33" winter tires the truck falls on its face.

Kind of obvious... but did you include the tire size and gear change in the tune settings? Is your speedo correct?

Yes that was all accounted for with the re-tune.
Going to re-log the truck Monday and see what's up.

How much does one of your wheels and tire weigh? Believe it or not but 1# on the wheel is equivalent to about 1-1.5hp loss. When I changed wheels on my truck from the stock 70#+wheels to a much lighter wheel it was like night and day difference. I think I lost around 20# each wheel that was a significant change. People do not think unsprung rotational mass be like it is … but it do
What is the weight difference between your buddies wheel and tire and yours?
