So I am trying to add a 12000 lb winch to wood deck car hauler. I know it is a big winch but I bought it on a sale. I would have put it in my tongue box but if I did that then a lose all the use of the box as the winch fills it up.
I went and bought a universal mount from tractor supply and was thinking of just mounting it the the wood floor with another piece of metal sandwiching the wood. I also had thought about cutting the middle boards out to the next support beam and putting a metal plate there to mount to but I wanted the plate to be level to the deck floor. To make it level I need to make up the difference of 1/1/2 above the next support beam that the wood takes up. Maybe using some big angle and then plate on top? I was unsure of that because the angle I put in would go above the supports and only be relying on the weld on the support
Any advice on how to go about mounting it.
