I figured out how to gain a little extra payload on the wee 1500. . .



Relax, it's just a joke. True story is I was in the middle of changing door bushings and remembered that employee was on his way in to do some sandblasting and I had a couple of the enclosed trailers parked in the way of the blasting pit. Rather than pay him to move them I decided to use the beater to move them instead of waking up the diesel. The kids got a kick of seeing me drive it around without a driver's door and I finished shuffling trailers right before my help arrived. I did have to snap one pic just for fun.

Certainly makes for easy ingress - egress....haha

i wonder if on a wrangler or gladiator, which have removable doors, whether this might actually be a legal workaround to gain payload. i can’t see why not?

Sometimes I wish I could do this after eating at a Mexican restaurant and then driving home.

Well, technically payload isn't a legal weight, axle weights are what matter when you cross the scales, but I see your point. I'd say you may be on to something to gain a couple hundred extra pounds if you're intent on towing with the wrong tool for the job! Good thought.

i traded my wrangler for a 2500hd! won’t be running out of payload any time soon!
