So I'm getting ready to take my boat out next week and i was hooking up to it doing my checks. No trailer light!! I replaced two #10 fuses and a #20, it blew the 10 twice. I unhooked replaced the 10's reconnected no power still. So i checked the connection plug with the testing light nothing. Went under the hood checked the replaced fuses with the testing light and again nothing! Checked the big block fuses around the area and several of those were dead. Connections were clean on trailer plug, no corrosion i could find. Is it possible i fried something electric board etc.. I hate to take it to a garage and be charged through the roof for a simple fix. Its a 2018 Silverado

If it's blowing the fuses without anything even hooked up, then there is a short in the harness at some point. Look for any areas that are rubbed or pinched. Areas where it makes a tight bend or is secured can all be suspect. Give it a once over front to back and see if you can spot anything obvious.

If it only blows the fuses with the trailer connected then the issue is with the trailer

I will check the underside out. If it is a problem with the trailer what do you think it could it be? The wire on the trailer was just replaced.

Could be something as simple as the plug is wired wrong, or a wire got rubbed, had a screw ran through it, got pinched between a light and a frame, etc.

I am leaning towards a problem with the wiring in the trailer.
First off, when you replaced all the fuses, do they blow as soon as you put them in and start the truck or do the blow after you plug in the trailer?

Try plugging in a different trailer and see if that works.

well when i first got the trailer they worked at first,then the next time i hooked up no running light but break and turn signal worked. But the fuse never crossed my mind so i put all new wire and lights on. Nothing but the same, then the fuse finally hit me, replaced fuse hooked up good to go. Now a couple months later plugged up fuses blew and no power at all to even test on another trailer. Very annoying

So went out, checked the trailer grounds all good,wire all good. Rechecked under the truck see no corrosion no pinched wire, and still no power to the trailer plug. Looking like will have to go to the shop and let them have a go at it.

Can't remember the place I bought mine BUT. I have a 7 pin flat to 6 pin round adaptor.
it plugs into the 7 pin flat socket on the truck and adapts to 6 round pin But it has led's for each contact so just plugging it in to my truck the led's light up each for left and right brake/directional and driving lights. Great tester. If I could remember where I bought it That would help trouble shooting the problem. This eliminates the truck end of things.

I actually got one of those the other day, to help with the problem. Tested it the plug no power at all
