I am trying to find the actual specs for my recently acquired truck and keep coming up with numbers that are all over the place. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LS Extended Cab 5.3L Towing package (tran cooler, trailer mode button) 3.42 gearing

How much weight can it tow and how much hitch weight can it handle or what is the payload?

I have found numbers from 5100 to 10,000 on towing capacity and 500 to 800 hitch weight and payload from 1500 to 1739.

If someone would just point me in the right direction to get the accurate numbers I would really appreciate it. I cannot tell from the manual which specs are correct and I have no door sticker listing payload. I just have the tire spec sticker.

There should be a sticker in your driver's door jamb with figures on it for payload, GVWR, etc.

Mine are gone, just have the tire rating sticker.

Then look in your owner's manual.

You might try emailing [email protected] to see if they can look up or re-create the "B" pillar tow ratings sticker for you...
I agree with Gary, that the owner's manual could be a good source, but it speaks in generalities, and can differ from your actual ratings.

Thank you for the tip to get the new sticker. Of course I tried the owner's manual but like you said it's pages of general ratings but nothing specific to this truck. I read somewhere that there is a site where you can put in the VIN number and get the exact specs but I haven't found it yet.

I dont know if the you have the RPO codes in the glove box like my 2009 but if you do here are some that would help you narrow down the rating based on the manuals chart.

EDIT: I see I overlooked that you know most of that.

Looks like 7100. Still don't see a payload rating.

Back in the day they didn't put that yellow and white payload sticker in the door jamb. About the only thing you can do is weigh the truck and and subtract that weight from the GVWR.
