Towing with my 6.0 Vmax

Towing with my 6.0 Vmax

Postby eugene954 [OP] » Oct 20 2014, 7:18pm

Good Morning!

I am new here and I just bought a 2007 Chevy Silverado 4x4 with a 6.0 Vmax in it. How can I tell if this has the tow package installed? The truck did come with a hitch and a plug for trailer lights. My bigger question is how do I know if I have the 4:10 rear end and the beefy tranny in it? The sticker on the door says GVWR @ 7300 pounds but the manual says this truck should be able to tow 10,000 pounds. I do not see a brake controller on the truck but I cant tell if it has the wires for it installed. If this truck does have everything I mentioned above would it be better to purchase a bumper pull toy hauler or getting a 5th wheel hitch installed and purchasing a 5th wheel toy hauler? Any information would be appreciated.

Cheers!

Search in the top right hand corner of the main page of the site> GM Master Rpo code list

Check this out and get in the glove box. to get you started you will be looking for a rear end in the G section.

Thanks for the info, I found the GT5 and that is the 4.10 ratio in the rear end.
