2010 Silverado 1500 5.3

I am going to be changing to tranny fluid soon. I plan on pulling the pan and changing the filter, is there a way to get all the fluid out so it can be as new as possible or do I just replace what fluid is lost in the changing of the filter?

Only way to get most of the old fluid out, would be do a flush. Other than that you're just changing what comes out with the pan drop.
