6L90 trans pan options.

6L90 trans pan options.

Postby Badmunky [OP] » Mar 02 2021, 5:29am

Looking to replace the trans pan on my 6l90 with a larder fined aluminum one to help with heat when towing.

From what I read the 6L90 and 6L80 are almost the same trans. Do they share the same pan?

If not any recommendations on a pan that fits the 6L90?

Thanks!

I put on a PML 6L90 pan from yourcovers.com on my 2009 2500HD, a real nice pan but expensive. And they show a different pan for the 6L80 so I would have to say the pans are different.

I didn`t have to move anything out of the way on my 08 and the gasket was used over again when I did the filter change. I was surprised at how well built the gasket was.

I also did not have to move anything out of the way on my 2009, While the pan was off I did put in a new filter and gasket.
