Thank you. This helped me tremendously. I'll definitely be going with 4.10's in preparation for larger tires later. I'm on stock 31 inch tires now so that should make things interesting.

Is anyone on here towing with 37" tires? I was going to put in 4.56's in, but after reading this I'm thinking 4.88's. I tow a 8,000lb camper and the truck is a dawg without the camper.

i want to say 4.88s may be a little much but if you do tow that often i think you'd be pleased with going 4.88s over the 4.56s

8 speed or 6 speed trans?

8 speed could swing the 4.56’s but 4.88’s would be best.

I'd look at how often you tow the 8000 lb trailer?

Once a month? Move to the 4.88 gears

Maybe once every 3 months? Stick with the 4.56 gears, as this will give you better gas mileage most the year, while you may suffer a little during the towing, but your mileage will be better for the time when you are now towing....

pros n cons thing, and time spent towing vs time not towing....
