Need a quick recommendation on U-joints

Need a quick recommendation on U-joints

Postby derekm91 [OP] » Oct 28 2016, 12:40am

About to order some new u-joints on rock auto, should I go with the stock AC Delco's or Moog? The price is about the same. My truck is an 08 sierra 4x4 with the 5.3. Thanks!

Either should be good, but go with the ones with grease nipples if they have them. No grease nipples and minimal lubrication from factory is what kills them. Keep them greased and they last forever.

I agree, both are good but grease fitting is the plus here.

I went with a napa grease able u joint and so far it's been fine for 30k.

The greaseable ones aren't as strong since they have holes in them while the non greaseable ones are solid, but for normal use, I'd go greaseable.

When i bought my heavy duty driveshaft it came with spicer. They said they would hold up better for the torque increase as im adding some performance stuff to my truck. So i figure if they recommend spicer and they build driveline components for sled trucks, then they must be pretty good.

+2 on Spicer joints. They are very durable and dependable.
