I'm hoping this is simple eg reflash the electronics however I'm preparing myself for a rebuild. Admittedly timid to take it to a transmission shop, they tend to find problems ;) That said, can anyone recommend a reputable trans. shop in Rockville, MD?

It's hard to exactly diagnose a transmission and getting an exact answer is rare. Especially since most guy's avoid working on them. I plan on learning myself one day. Heck it seems a lot of freshly rebuilt units have problems and people just buy brand new one's or a new truck

Anything like this for the 4l80e, or do they tend to share issues closely?

Thanks for the link, lots of good info. to add to my studies. After I get my TC problem worked out I'm planning on rebuilding my 4L60e before mine takes a dump or starts having problems. I have been looking through the Sonnax and Transgo sites planning my attack.
