10,000 Gallons of gas...

Postby ricka182 [OP] » Jan 22 2020, 2:17pm

Actually by now, it's some number over...I just never reset the gauge back to zero. Thought it looked cool.. But it also just reminds me how long I've had my truck... Bought in 2005, and still getting me from "A" to "B"...

Lot of work to be done this Spring/Summer..pulling bed to check and paint frame, and also pulling front apart to clean and paint as much as I can as well... Engine wise, still runs strong, no issues. Love my truck, and plan to keep it forever...not sure it would sell for much anyway, and it has sentimental value, which is worth nothing to anyone else. But maybe in a few years, I'll be in something newer...maybe..

As long as it gets the job done not having that payment is nice!

I don't pay attention to either trip meter. I used to keep one of them untouched, and the other I would use if I needed to measure a driving distance...It's been a while though since I've even cycled through them..

No payments are truly the best part of owning a vehicle. Payments these days can be like a house note!!!

It's just think it's insane as well, and I'll bet it's a 7 year note, LOL!!! For just a little more than that a month I have 1.5 acres of lakefront with access, 3 cabins, and a shop/garage that's only going up in value every day, as Texas isn't making any more lake property.

That's nuts to pay $1000 a month on a truck. I guess it was a zero down payment deal. Psychologically I'd freak out paying that much per month. I'd much rather put a nice hefty down payment and have a reasonable monthly payment. And long term, doing that saves you a ton on interest. And about the 10,000 gallons of gas, I just realized that's like $23,000 in fuel costs!
Damn, I just realized how much these things really burn. I guess I'm the guy keeping my local Sam's Club gas station in business, Lol!

Did you buy the truck back in 2006? I just looked it up and in 2006 the average price of gas was $3.03 per gallon. That's more than today!
