I think the long bed is not possible for the tilt method. You would have to be a brave man to want to stick yourself between the bed and the frame to do this repair.

Is sliding the bed back 2' possible? Again this is a one man show here.

its not possible to slide it back without removing the tires and bumper, correct? Would need a second person to physically lift it over those obstacles.... again, I am just an old man one man show.

How many pounds of torque are needed for bed bolts?

This is the first post I have seen that says it is 3 on the short box. I have a short box and have been pulling my hair out trying to find the 4th bolt. At this point the front most one on the drivers side won't budge for me. I have hit it with PB Blaster, using the electric impact wrench which necessitates using a flexible adapter to get the socket on the bolt head, but that worked just fine on the other side. Hopefully I can get it out as the tank is full so dropping it is not an option for me.
