The cts3 is actually cheaper than the cts2 was by about $30 or so.

My oil arrived today. Still wating on the t-case gasket. Image

Officially have all my parts and fluids to do the trans in the truck.

Got my two quarts of amsoil 5w30 for the transfer case today. Going to switch over to the 5w30 instead of the ATF. Also still not sure which fluid I will ultimately run in the trans.

I'm going with the recommended fluid for the break in. After that I'm not sure if I'll switch to a synthetic or stay with the generic dex/merc and just change it frequently. The dex/merc will hold better, but obviously doesn't handle heat well and breaks down quicker.

New parts are always good haha. I was hoping to do it this weekend but I'm not sure if I'll get to it or not. I am picking up my brothers truck Saturday morning, and want to give that a good solid run down so that leaves late Saturday and then Sunday. So I'll have to see. And that's assuming I get the converter either Thursday or Friday

That really looks nice. Good looking shipping container too. Hope you get the conveter in tomorrow or Friday. Having a lift and all the tools really helps on a swap like you're doing. Waiting to hear how it feels as compared to stock and tuned stock.

I won't be doing it on a lift unfortunately. We don't have a high lift trans jack at the shop. Shouldn't be too bad to do it on the ground. Just get it up in the air a bit and should be good. I still don't favor trans/driveline work but this trans is a lightweight compared to what I normally deal with lol.

And yeah I'm excited to see how she drives. Should be a nice difference for sure. Definitely looking forward to a nice solid lockup.

Some better pics of the trans. Don't mind my finger print smudges on the PTO covers. ImageImage
