Frame is cleaned off, pressure washed, degreased, and the first coat of neutralizer is on. Image

First coat of paint is on. I'll let it tack up and then add another and fix any spots I missed. ImageImage

It's sad that the frame looks like that already. Come on Chevy! I'd gladly pay an extra 2000 to have my frame Rhino Lined at the factory.

A lot of it was dirt. Really only a few spots where the coating flaked off.

But GM definitely needs to do something better than the wax coating. Should e coat them like everything else out there.

But anything will rust if not taken care of. Washing is the key.

The e coat isn’t that great either but better than the wax.

Yeah nothing is ideal really. But the wax is one of the worst.

I think a good old coat of chassis paint would be the best thing they could do. Just touch it up as it chips and your golden.

Back half is done. Paint is all wrapped up and I coated the inside of the frame the best i could with some wool wax. Also acf50'd the areas around the light junction box and the two modules, as well as the brake line fittings. Image

Yeah it's a good bit of work. And you get covered in paint. But it's worth it. Not only will it help preserve the frame, but it's so much easier to clean as well.

I'm off to autozone to get some more paint and rust inhibitor. For some odd reason after half a can the rustoleum I got will only spray upside down. I think the internal straw fell off lol.

I'm going to hit any spots on the front half I see with the inhibitor and let it sit overnight then paint it tomorrow
