AC_Chevy’s 2018 Z71 Build

Postby AC_Chevy [OP] » Jan 26 2019, 5:46am

Hello, new to the site and wanted to share my build. Bought this truck in November and had an idea of how I wanted the truck to end up. It is my daily driver, I will tow some with it and it will see some light off-roading. I’m not twenty anymore and after two knee surgeries I didn’t want to go too big. Don’t get me wrong I love the big trucks also, I just wanted something a little milder. Here she is the day I brought her home.

So first thing I did was remove the pinstripe, gives a cleaner look in my opinion. Thought about totally debadging but haven’t made up my mind on that.

Top is after removal, came off pretty easy with a hair dryer to heat a little.

Welcome. Looks good without the pinstripe. What other plans do you have in mind?

They are pricey....but amp power steps might help some with bad knees.

I had a certain look in mind and it turned out exactly what I was going for. 4 inch BDS with 33’s doesn’t sound like much but it’s a huge difference over stock. The BDS kit for this truck kicks the wheels out about an inch and a half in the front, so I added one and three quarter inch spacers in the back. I went with 1 3/4 because you don’t have to trim studs to install them. Dropped at shop Monday and picked it up Thursday morning. I felt like a 4 year old on Christmas morning!

I’ve got around 2.5 inches of poke, makes it looks mean. I like it but I bought some Duratrek flares that would add a little coverage, I’m not a fan of the big flares myself. I’ll get them out later and hold them up and post some picks with and without and see what y’all think.

Thanks nealinator, it’s got the steps on it from the dealership for now. I’ve actually been looking at the Amp power steps, they are sweet. I love the fact there tucked when not in use, makes the trucks look that much bigger. They are pricey and the wife doesn’t understand why I need those when it already has some steps haha.

I ordered the Range AFM bypass because I’ve read about the problems it’s caused. I can’t tell when mine switches from 4 to 8 unless I switch the dash info to see it but the excess oil issue is what I’m worried about. I might send the Range back and go with Lews tune package but I’m worried about voiding the warranty with that option.
