That sucks, I thought I read low end power increase (0-60), I have definite power loss with lift & tires and I thought I've read Lew tune was the cure. I guess I'll start looking at the local tune shops, I hear they are averaging 30-35 hp increase with the 5.3's

Soooo I need some headers is what you say’n brother. Haha Actually I know you got the Lew tune my friend and are a fan of it and you got a good size lift and tires. My question for you is did it help with the lag from dead stop. I ask people and they just say it helps driveability and my response is my truck drives fine lol what does it actually do!? (Aside from the AFM) Help me brother, shine the light of wisdom haha

Wouldn’t be the first time brother, and as I’ve said before I’m not as educated on drivetrain as other things and a lot of you guys have that knowledge

Better throttle response. And shifts. So it takes the lag out of starting off the line.

And yes. Everyone needs long tubes!

But in the end it also has to do with your larger tires. A set of lower gears would help the most.

Yah I’ve been hearing regear from the start so that’s probably the reality of what I need to do. Afgixxer sorry for posting so much on your thread my friend.

What I would say as far as power and these trucks is they it’s not necessarily the peak number that matters, but more so where the truck makes power. When I got my truck custom tuned he’s the trans was a night and day change, but what I had not thought about was that it seems that Lew helped my truck make more power (or power come in quicker) in the lower rpm ranges. Say between 2k-3500. And now I like to think my truck with near 35s skoots better than most with the tune and a 4.10 regear. To do my regear all over again, I would go 4.56 though.

Just saw your build thread, nice truck! Not to hijack but I went with the Range AFM delete and it drives much better but I’m only running 33’s. Still nervous about the Lew tune and warranty.

Running 33s and not retuning to account for the larger side screws up your odometer, and transmission shifts. FYI

Sorry, I’ve been away for a while!

I had some free time one Saturday, so I went and took off the side pinstripes. Mine came with some sparkly silver ones from the dealer. and I’ve wanted them gone the first day. During the process I also removed the dealer sticker. I think it looks a lot cleaner.

To make the process the easiest, I just peeled with my fingernail and followed behind with a hairdryer on high heat. Most of the stripes came off in one or two passes.
