During the same week of the stripe removal, I scouted some tint places and went with the second place.

I spent ALOT ( I am very meticulous and over research all my purchases) of research on percentages, how it looked and the increased level of difficulty driving at night. I really liked 5% all around due to the looks and privacy, but countless people told me that had a lot of trouble driving at night. Watching one video on YouTube confirmed it and I didn’t want to deal with it. Another thing was that the higher qualities of tint don’t come in that low percentages.

After discussing with the tint specialist all my options and the features of how different levels of tint block out heat with a heat lamp display, I dropped off my truck and it was done in about 6 hours.

The brand of tint is called Xpel ceramic, which to my knowledge I thought they only did paint protection. I don’t have a number of the EXACT %, but I will give you a ball park. The pictures were done when I picked it up before everything cured.

I didn’t want to go as dark as the 35% on the windshield as a lot of people did with the 35%/5% so I went around 40-42% Image

The sides are probably between 10-15%
Image

The rear is around 20% if I am not mistaken. Image

Overall I am very happy with the look and it does help a lot with the southern heat and I am sure will add protection for my leather interior.

Afgixxer’s 2018 Silverado Z71 Stormtrooper Build

Postby Afgixxer [OP] » May 20 2019, 2:38pm

The next modification I did was something I was very excited about and wanted to do since I first saw the thread...

The Jumpseat - Center console.

I talked a lot with Phil Gamboa who if you are unaware makes custom harness to allow such modifications to work as factory as possible.
He was extremely helpful throughout the entire process even with the smallest of questions. I discussed with him what options I wanted as far as color and trim and sent my payment. I chose to match my door trim instead of the radio and ordered Black leather with Reverse Tartan trim. Image

After about a week or so, the console arrived and it was packaged very well. Image

Before going into this I watched Phil’s YouTube video a few time to understand the process. Overall it really wasn’t that hard. I have no experience at all with things like this and the only issue I really had was releasing the tabs on the cables. Some of them were very stiff. I wanted to be as careful as I could to not break or scratch anything.

Tools you will need
15mm socket
10mm socket
Flat head screwdriver
Torx T15
Torx T27
Torx T50
Butter Knife to push some of the tabs on the cables

After it was all installed.

Total Costs

Floor console- $775
Custom harness- $150
2 usb cables- $30
I ordered one GM cable (part number-19303284) since it was in stock for $27 and a mini usb for $3
Sold my jumpseat on eBay for $350

Afgixxer’s 2018 Silverado Z71 Stormtrooper Build

Postby Afgixxer [OP] » May 20 2019, 2:48pm

I wanted to brighten up my lights to LED so the first ones I tackled were the reverse lights. I knew they would be by far the easiest.

I ordered these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078WY6DVS/

These are BRIGHT, probably brighter than most headlights.

I’ve never seen anyone tint their front windshield...where in the south do you live?
Assuming it is legal??

Pretty sure that’s not legal anywhere lol. They limit how much you can tint your front sides.
