What's a rough estimate to get those wheels "refurbished" like you are doing?

New HID's showed up today. I ordered them from THIS vendor on eBay!. Both a 35W kit in a 9005 and a 9006. Install was super easy. It actually took longer to re-aim and align the lights than it did to do the actual install.

I also did the "all lights on" mod that silentbravo mentioned in THIS construction post. Super easy and the result is great!

Now thinking about the next mod...

The new HID's look great, something I've been debating doing to my truck. Do you have a picture of them lighting up the road?

No I don't. You really need a DSLR in order to take quality pics that can show the lighting when it's that dark outside. The camera on my phone just doesn't have the settings (ISO, shutter speed and aperture) nor does it have as high of a quality lens than you have on DSLR's.

But they do look good. I had HID's on my bike for years and had very good results with them. I now have LED's on the bike. While the HID's have a "whiter" look to them, they don't seem that much brighter. They are brighter, but compared to the Silver Stars that I was using, these HID's only seem maybe 20%-30% brighter. But for the price I paid for both kits ($33.26), I'm very pleased. I could have gone to 55W HID's but I was concerned with the heat the bulbs might generate and how they might negatively impact the bulb housing.

If you're on the fence, go for it. Even if you only do the low beams. For the price, for me, it was worth taking the chance. Be aware of one fact...HID's are NOT instant on. They take 10-15 seconds to "fire up" and stabilize. HID's are basically an ARC lamp. They're not like halogen or LED bulbs. This was the reason I did the ALL LIGHTS ON MOD. When you go from low beam to high beam, the high beams take some time to warm up and come to full brightness. Since stock setting have the low beams go off, this was an issue. Now with the low beams staying on all the time, turning on the high beams isn't as big a deal.

Those look intensely bright from your pic. I'll be posting up a mod on how to disable the automatic head lights for my truck pretty soon. Not sure if you have that or not (or care to disable it) but the instructions will be in my log within the next few days I think.

I actually like The automatic headlight on function. Besides, it's easy to disable it temporarily by pushing the dome override button three or four times in rapid succession.

The $100 OEM wheels I picked up off Craigslist just came back from the powder coaters. I must admit, they look great. I was a little concerned the center caps might not match, but they look just fine. Still waiting on the valve stems to get here. Hope to get them mounted this weekend.

Those wheels look awesome! I don't know what you meant by "rough shape" in your original post about the wheels, but these don't show any hint of "rough". The refinisher did a great job!
