The brand new gas pedal came in yesterday, and now I just need to find some time (and decent enough weather) to install it. I am hoping to be able to tough it out this weekend and get it done... It's only going to be around 20* for a high during the day, but it needs to be done.

So I finally had some time and decent weather to install the new and updated pedal. A T27 socket and 2 bolts later I had the old one out and was able to put the new one in.

As you can see they look identical except for the part numbers, but it’s a direct replacement since the old number has been superseded in 2017.

All plugged in and ready to go.

Upon 1st test drive I already noticed a difference in pedal feel. The throttle response is a lot better as there is less dead travel and it should get rid of my intermittent CEL as well. WIN!

what years had the "laggy" pedal?

does this fix the laggy feel by eliminating the need for the paint stick mod? or is it programmed differently?

I am wondering if this would do anything for my '15

I have the paint stick modification in my truck as well. That is the whole pedal housing that is affected, and this bolts into the housing. BUT, I believe its 2007 (new body style) to 2016 have the old part number pedal and can be affected by with the dead zone. So this will eliminate some of the laggy feel from the pedal. I also have a tune on the truck and I have the pedal sensitivity turned up a touch and I was not expecting the truck to snap like it did when I went for my test drive. It might also be the Butt Dyno and a placebo effect but I did a bunch of reading about this and others found the same thing as I noted myself. Plus for only $80 its a cheap and easy fix + modification/upgrade to the truck that will benefit in the long run.

Good to hear you got your problem sorted out, did you have to preform any relearn procedure for the new pedal or was it plug and play entirely?

Looks good Matt!
Haven't had time to wash mine after almost a week of rain 2 weeks ago, and its really filthy....but I just looked at my forecast for rhe next 7 days, and although it's going to be wash weather for the weekend, it turns to crap with rain by Wednesday, with the temp dipping down to 17 by Friday night, which reinforces the first two weeks of February being the worst in central Texas.

On other subjects, I just looked at my gas pedal, and I have the old part number. Do you think it's worth upgrading?

Looks good, Matt! I washed my truck Monday in 29*F weather. Now it's filthy after plowing and making a run to Home Depot today. Ugh.

Great info, Thanks! I cant stand that pedal lag. I call it the wind up before the pitch lol. wasn't aware of the pedal upgrade. I thought a Lewtune would cure it. Now I have to research this paint stick mod :D
