You know I was picking on you. And you said you were working a ton at the time. Dr said you had a good heartbeat and didn't even mention loosing weight....good to go!

Aside from the amps being a more easy step in where they position themselves when down and how wide they are...they also sort of keep the no-step look. I can see where some want the look of step bars with how they set their truck up. Maybe amp is missing the market by not having some that sort of look like a tube from the side but then go down and out. best of both worlds.

Yours should maybe look like surfboards down there...that would be unique!

Had a wonderful weekend out in Las Vegas attending all the fun of The Mint 400! So incredible.
Put a bunch of miles on my truck to drive out there (plus some fun in the desert dirt as we got all around qualifying, a day off of fun in a 6100 Trophy Spec truck (yes, I got a ride), and whatnot.. All in all. Epic few days in the desert. I love this truck.

Got my funding for some steps and a tonneau cover too, so hoping to get those in the next week. Look for updates soon. :D

Until then.. here's a few from the desert. 8-)

And the spec truck we were "playin" with.. Incredible machines. Can't say enough about what these trucks are capable of. Wow.

Yep.. I am astounded by the capability of those vehicles. That suspension soaks up the BIGGEST of bumps, hills, jumps, rocks, trees, etc.. hah. It was wild. Seeing these massive bumps coming and thinking "ohh jeeze.. we're dead" and we just go flying over it and sink into the landing and keep flying. :o
Not only that, with a professional driver behind the wheel of the thing, I was in awe of how fast he reacts and how well he can put that thing wherever he needs to. Insane. We finished the run and I go - dude I don't see how you even think that fast and can react. It's just blurred for me. And he just laughed and says.. and this one only has half the power of the Unlimited TT. Here I was thinking we were blasting through this desert and he's only half powered from his usual "drive."

Then again.. here's pic someone got during his qualifying run. Dude's got guts..

thanks Neal! Appreciate the kind words. I do enjoy this truck thoroughly. Its so nice to be able to just jump in, gas it up, and go. Even on a trip like that out into the desert hundreds of miles away.. Gas, snacks, and go. :D

That being said, I know I mentioned before that I was going to spend the extra money on some AMP Steps.. but I just can't do it. hah.
So my plan now (hopefully coming very soon), will be to pick up a Bakflip MX4 bed cover, and some DeeZee NXt running boards.
After spending a LOT of time scouring the endless options for steps, bars, boards, etc.. I've decided these meet my desires. I want to have easy step-up capabilities while maintaining a good sleek "tucked up high" to the cab sort of look. https://www.deezee.com/product/nxt-running-boards/

Good option for a fraction of the cost of those powered ones..

Dang, I got excited when I first clicked on the link... thought, heck I'll order a set of those step rails too...

Then selected my 2004 crew cab and wasn't as thrilled with the price. Lol

Haha yeah. They are good at getting ya that way. Still beats the $1500 for AMP though. Hah

That baja stuff is awesome!

I'm a fan of your build. Those running boards will be sweet. I'm keeping my factory runners until they get knocked off. I almost lost one in Yellowstone, but it just kinda bent back down and the plastic popped back on.

Tight build. Your ~33's look really good under there on the 17s, I love the meaty rubber look! Carry on.

haha. Thank you! :D Yeah, I like this ratio of wheel to tire. Glad to see others feel the same. I appreciate the kind words. Cheers!

On the subject of the truck.. thankfully (after spending 4 days in the desert), we now have a week of rain hitting us in SoCal. So now I get a free wash. 8-)
